Each film coated tablet of ZETORIN 250 tabs contains : Azithromyn USP (as dihydrate) equivalent to Azithromycin anhydrous 250mg Excipients.

         
       

Each film coated tablet of ZETORIN 500 tabs contains : Azithromyn USP (as dihydrate) equivalent to Azithromycin anhydrous 500mg Excipients.

         
        Each ZETORIN 100ml contains : Azithromycin USP (as dihydrate) equivalent to Azithromycin anhydrous 20mg Flavoured syrupy base q.s.
         
        Each ZETORIN 200ml contains : Azithromycin USP (as dihydrate) equivalent to Azitromycin anhydrous 40mg Flavoured syrupy base q.s.
         
         
        Therapeutic Indications & Usage
         
        Zetorin indicated for Upper respiratory tract infections such as Acute otitis media ,Tonsillopharyngitis, sinusitis& Community acquired pneumonia,typhoid fever,malaria..
         
        Contraindications
         
        Zetorin is contraindicated for patients suffering with liver disease,kidney disease,heart rhythm disorder.Zetorin is contraindicated in patient with hypersensitivity with macrolides group(Eg erythromicin).
         
         
        Precautions & Warnings
         
        Prescribing Zetorin in the absence of a proven or strongly suspected bacterial infection or a prophylactic indication is increases the risk of the development of drug-resistant bacteria. Azithromycin can cause rare, but serious allergic reactions, including angioedema and anaphylaxis.Azithromycin should be used cautiously in patients with preexisting renal disease. Azithromycin should be used with caution in patients with a history of GI disease. Azithromycin should use pregnant women & nursing mother only if needed, because safety has not
been clearly established.
         
         
        Adverse Reaction:
         
        Adverse reactions of Zetorin are GI side effects that is diarrhea.,nausea,abdominal pain,vomiting.Pseudomembranous colitis can occur during and up to several weeks after azithromycin therapy. Occasional patients have developed cholestatic hepatitis or delirium. Accidental intravenous overdosage in an infant caused severe heart block, resulting in residual encephalopathy.
         
         
        Drug to drug interaction.
         
        Azithromycin should not be taken at the same time as aluminum- or magnesium- based antacids,because antacids will bind the azithromycin and prevent it from being absorbed from the intestine. Don't take azithromycin with digoxin because it increases risk of digoxin toxicity. While taking azithromycin with tacrolimus it significantly increase the level of the drug in you system.
         
         
        Recommended Dosage & Administration
         
        ADULTS: ZETORIN 500 OD for 3 days; alternatively, ZETORIN 250 BID on 1st day followed by 1 ZETORIN OD on days 2 through 5.
Genital ulcer disease (chancroid) / NGU / Cervicitis: 2 ZETORIN 500 Tabs
Gonococcal urethritis / Gonococcal cervicitis: 4 ZETORIN 500 Tabs stat.
Malaria: 750-1500 mg ZETORIN daily in 2-3 divided doses for 3 days; as adjuvant to antimalarials.
Typhoid: 2 ZETORIN 500 Tabs od for 5 days; or 1 ZETORIN 500 Tab od for 7 days.
INFANTS & CHILDREN: 30 mg/kg as a single dose or 10 mg/kg once daily for 3 days or 10 mg/kg
on day 1 followed by 5 mg/kg on Days 2 through 5.
Malaria: 10-30 mg/kg ZETORIN daily for 3 days; as adjuvant to antimalarials.
Typhoid: 10-20 mg/kg ZETORIN daily for 5 days; maximum 1000 mg per day.
